‘‘The television screen is the retina of the mind’s eye’’ David Cronenberg, Videodrome 1983

Created in 2015, ‘Videodrome’ is a series of 16 artworks, both furtive and seductive, evoking the ghosted look of pirated VHS or the lo-resolution, high-contrast nature of youtube clip recorded from a cathode ray tube TV screen. Lavishly colourful, the viewer is drawn towards them, perhaps too close, like an obsessive James Woods slithering into his television in the climactic sequense of Cronenberg’s horror classic Videodrome.

‘Videodrome’ exhibited in London, Newcastle, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Brussels accompanied by a soundtrack created by Danny Passarella and the UK techno producer Perc.
