The Future Has A Silver Lining
Tuskegee Music producer D'Marc Cantu teams up with Danny Passarella to create 'The Future Has A Silver Lining'. Their debut release in 2019 released on Les Disques De La Mort was described as ‘Mesmerising Acid Based Driller’ by Berlin's Hardwax, EP2 & EP3 soon followed on Passarella Records.
The Future Has A Silver Lining #1
Released March 2019
This is pure machine music straying from the eternal revival of everything vintage.
‘The Future has A Silver Lining’ title comes from the advertising for a high-end utopia promised in RoboCop’s ‘Delta City’. The track titles inspired by ASCII codes, represent the key elements that lay ahead in the film, or in today’s society'.
DJ Mag ‘Techno release of the month’ review
D’Marc Cantu is one of the finest contemporary US techno producers, and hopefully this release will win him exposure outside of the Nation/Kode camp. With a title derived from an ad tagline from the movie Robo Cop, this split release with Danny Passarella has a truly dystopian feel. ‘067’ and ‘068’ are throbbing, acid-led tracks, underpinned by ticking percussion and eerie, swirling synths. However, when the pair depart from this script, the truly magical moments occur; both ‘080’ and ‘065’ are irresistibly bleak, dubbed out grooves that ooze menace at every bar, making this one of 2019’s most distinctive records.

The Future Has A Silver Lining #2
Released April 2020
D'Marc Cantu teams up with Danny Passarella on Passarella Records for their second collab, entitled 'The Future Has A Silver Lining 2'.
'Survival' opens with dystopian soundscapes, splashing rides and a broken-beat rhythm before 'Reality' locks in a solid groove with analogue kicks, arpeggiated keys and decaying claps. Next, 'Appearance' energetically canters with layered cymbals, distorted snares and sharp synths until 'Memory' closes proceedings with an evolving bass, subtle drums and a hauntingly atmospheric sound floor.
The Future Has A Silver Lining #3
Released July 2021
D’Marc Cantu and Danny Passarella team up once more for the third chapter of ‘The Future Has A Silver Lining’. It follows part 1 which was released on Les Disques De La Mort and gained DJ Mag’s Techno Release of The Month and part 2 released in 2020 on the Passarella Records imprint.
On ‘The Future Has A Silver Lining 3’ D’Marc and Danny collaborate across four new highly-atmospheric tracks where house beats meet the melodiousness of electronica, from the deep drive of ‘Recognizably Invisible’, via the darkly evocative ‘Un-Searchable’ and contrasting lightness of touch on ‘Void’, before closing with the tracky and dappled ‘Without Shape’.snares and sharp synths until 'Memory' closes proceedings with an evolving bass, subtle drums and a hauntingly atmospheric sound floor.
